Die rheinland-pfälzische Landesstiftung „Villa Musica“ fördert seit 30 Jahren herausragende junge Musiker und bringt die Klassik auf die Konzertbühnen in Rheinland-Pfalz. Eines der Stipendiaten-Ensembles ist das junge deutsch-russisch-kanadische Eliot-Quartett, das sich im Sommer 2014 zusammenfand und seitdem etliche Preise und Auszeichnungen gewinnen konnte. In Frankenthal spielen Maryana Osipova, Alexander Sachs, Dmitry Hahalin und Michael Preuss drei Streichquartette, die in den Augen – oder Ohren – vieler zu den schönsten der Literatur gehören: Schuberts dramatisches d-Moll-Quartett mit dem Beinamen „Der Tod und das Mädchen“ und dem schillernden zweiten Satz mit Variationen über das gleichnamige Schubert-Lied, das zauberhafte F-Dur-Quartett von Maurice Ravel und das selten gespielte D-Dur-Quartett aus Haydns Opus 71 – ein musikalischer Streifzug durch Klassik, Romantik und Impressionismus!
